and tradition yet with a fresh, modern outlook, namely Bilbao, Spain, provided
an architecturally rich backdrop for business building at the 2007 Partner
Growth Meeting.

CeBIT 2007
CeBIT, one of the largest
IT&C exhibitions in the world, puts together major telecommunication names
each year. CeBIT keeps growing in terms of quality and exhibitors featuring
overall attendance of approximately 480,000 (an increase of more than 10 percent

It will forge them into a new platform that bridges the gap between people and business processes – boosting productivity, enhancing customer satisfaction, cutting costs and maintaining security. Getting there doesn’t mean ripping out expensive communications infrastructure and starting again. Companies can build on existing investments and take a step-by-step approach. Unified communications is an industry-wide topic, but Ericsson approaches it from a truly mobile perspective. Ericsson’s vision is of mobile unified communications, which is about driving business process efficiency, improving collaboration and giving real time access to information – anywhere, anytime. It means providing fixed, wireless or cellular access to business communications and applications via the corporate or public domain. Ericsson’s strategy is based upon the open IMS (IP Multimedia Subsystem) standard, which provides a secure path for companies looking to migrate to the next stage of convergence.
The company’s new
Enterprise Multimedia Server offers companies a fast, cost-effective way
to roll out user-centric unified communications with Ericsson patented Mobile
Extension support. The Enterprise Multimedia Server gives business users
a single point of contact for any form of communication – voice, e-mail, fax,
SMS or instant message – regardless of where they are and what device, fixed or
mobile, they want to use. Presence information, preference management and
real-time monitoring of colleagues are available for all users on all devices
(Press
release). All roads leading to IP and mobility Ericsson’s new Enterprise Mobility Gateway offers companies a fast, cost-efficient way to take control of their mobile communications. The system will initially provide mobile voice services, fully integrated with the corporate communications network, on 2G/3G mobile devices as well as dual-mode mobile/WiFi devices (Press release). The Enterprise Mobility Gateway can be deployed as an integrated solution for any IP-PBX from any vendor – either as customer premises equipment or as a hosted service – in a way that reuses existing investments and speeds return on investment, typically within 12 months. It is built on open standards, with SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) as one of the core technologies, which provides a good fit with corporate IT environments. By adding a ‘mobility layer’ to existing enterprise communications infrastructure, it enables enterprises to take advantage of the proven Ericsson One Phone concept. This simplifies communications by integrating all communication devices into one consolidated IP-based communications infrastructure, with the proven benefits of reduced total cost of ownership, easy-to-use rich mobility features, increased employee flexibility and productivity, and enhanced customer satisfaction. With over 15,000 employees and 360 separate enterprises operating within its boundaries, AIA is more than just a global travel hub. It acts as the service provider for all telecommunication and information technology infrastructure and services within the airport community, with over 15 million passengers per year.
