Due to exponential growth of data, companies and organizations along the world are faced with challenge of securing proper infrastructure for data storage and archiving. Execution of applications for processing and management of data are equally vulnerable. On the user’s side, the main challenges were operational speed and available space of a storage system. Additional challenge was the demand to provide high-availability of the storage system, both within the data center and between data centers. It was necessary to provide further development and uninterrupted system functioning, while the fast response time professional support was mandatory.
Solution
TeleGroup expert team has recognized that virtualization of the storage system is the optimal solution which fully meets all user’s requirements. IBM, with its product SAN Volume Controller and state-of-the-art technology was the natural response to all mentioned challenges. Combining fast SSD disks and compression systems, maximum performances were set with simultaneous space saving. Through storage system virtualization and integration with existing solution for server virtualization, high availability of data, services and applications were available to the user.
