Cyber Security is key for the 21st century companies' business
The Ninth Infosec Conference was organized by TeleGroup and TG-SEC companies and was dedicated to Cyber Security. It was held in Banja Luka and it gathered more than 100 participants from different IT companies, state and financial institutions. The aim
of the Conference was to raise conscience on the importance of information security in the countries in the Western Balkans, and this Conference has become one of the most important events in the IT sector in the region.
The Conference began with the speech held by Željka Cvijanović, the President of the Republic of Srpska, who confirmed that every event of this kind shows that Srpska is keeping pace with the requirements of the New Age: „The more we enter IT world and the more we use information technologies, the more threats we come upon. From the aspect of keeping the citizens and the economy safe, the institutions of the Republic of Srpska find that cyber security is extremely important“, said
Cvijanović, adding that: „The exchange of experiences on Infosec Conference will contribute to the enhancement of knowledge, and to coming up with new operative and technical solutions“.
Program director of the Conference and the director of TG-SEC company, Dalibor Ratković, emphasized that Infosec Conference was established to raise the level of information security in the Western Balkans, and that it is very important
for government institutions to support this process and make their resources steady, so that economy and institutions could function in a proper way.
„This year, we've gathered people who deal with technology solutions and keep pace with world solutions, but who also provide insight into the problems of this very complex part of IT industry. There are challenges and threats in all areas, from personal ones to those aimed at business systems. Today, the safety of operation networks and industrial systems has been very important, since these are crucial resources that have to be adequately protected. It is therefore extremely important to continuously invest in current IT security solutions, as well as in the education of employees.“,
Lecturers from different IT Security companies presented various examples of global cyber security incidents and showed statistics which prove that there is a significant rise of threats, and teach us which methods and techniques to use in fighting them.
Ivan Štrbac, Security Engineer in the company Check Point, talked about the complexity of cyber security, and Žiga Benedik, Regional Account Manager in the company Trend Micro presented the evolution from traditional
to sofisticated cyber attacks, and the dangers of Dark Web. Zoltan Adam, Regional Sales Manager, on behalf of Thales company presented Data Security solutions.
Aleksandar Pavlović, Security Sales Specialist in the company Cisco talked about the importance of integrating security solutions in a users' network that would contribute to detection of potential threats in a timely manner. Dino Novak,
Account Manager of the company F5 talked about a successful and secure digital transformation of companies. The Conference was closed by Davor Perat, Senior Technology Consultant in the company Symantec, who held a lecture on the ways
in which Symantec integrates its point security solutions with particular solutions by third parties in a unique platform.
TeleGroup organized the first conference in 2011 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in 2013 in Serbia. Long-term plans of the company is to establish conferences in all the countries TeleGroup operates in, and to make them address the most current topics in the area of cyber security as well as to propose solutions in cooperation with internationally recognized names that will help the economy and government institutions to protect the overall information resources.
