A new era of energy - SET 2022
TeleGroup at the "Energy Summit Trebinje 2022" – Synergy of Knowledge and Technology for the Future of the Energy Sector
The "Energy Summit Trebinje 2022" concluded successfully, held from March 16 to 18, bringing together representatives of the most significant companies in the energy sector in the region, as well as regional ministers responsible for energy.
Over three days, topics ranged from the energy crisis and the transformation of the energy sector to key trends in energy, the development of infrastructure for electromobility, and the security of supply and oil derivatives markets.
TeleGroup System’s mission as a technology company is to actively contribute to the energy sector by transforming processes and elevating them to a higher level through the application of modern technological tools. Therefore, we seized the opportunity to share our expertise with other companies and collaborators.
Representing TeleGroup at the summit were Deputy General Director and Sales Director of TeleGroup Banja Luka, Georgije Mihajlović; Infrastructure Executive Director, Mladen Vuksan; System Integration Team Leader, Nemanja Mijatović; Account Manager, Jovan Kladarić; and Energy Systems Designer, Velibor Vasić.
On a panel moderated by Goran Radosavljević, Director of the FEFA Institute in Belgrade, Georgije Mihajlović joined speakers Bojan Omerović, Stefan Krneta, and Srđan Ožegović. They emphasized that the transformation of the energy sector cannot succeed without the synergy of knowledge, education, skilled personnel, and decision-makers.
The deadlines for the decarbonization process are very close and present a significant challenge. The question is how to implement all solutions within these deadlines. My advice is to use knowledge and technology to overcome challenges - said Mihajlović.
According to him, decentralization of electricity production, such as the installation of solar panels and the construction of wind farms, makes it difficult to predict how much electricity will be produced.
We need adequate software solutions, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to have tools for forecasting. Distributed energy architecture requires a distributed IT architecture to monitor this area. Blockchain technology is also emerging as an interesting solution. It is essential to involve the scientific community and universities in the entire process of energy sector transformation, including designing educational programs to support the development of personnel crucial for future projects - added Mihajlović.
Mihajlović emphasized that implementing digitization projects in the energy sector is impossible without the domain-specific expertise of professionals in electric utility companies. - TeleGroup provides the knowledge and tools for project implementation, but without the expertise of those where solutions are implemented, the process is not feasible.
This year’s SET set high standards for future events, with over 700 participants from 10 countries, 80 technical and scientific papers presented, and overwhelmingly positive impressions. The city of Trebinje demonstrated its capability to host such an event successfully.
The sponsors of the three-day summit were the Government of the Republic of Srpska, the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations in the Council of Ministers, and the Electric Power Industry of Montenegro.
